FAQs
What is therapy like with you?
Therapy is structured, collaborative, and paced to support safety and progress. Sessions focus on understanding patterns, building practical skills, and creating meaningful change. You can expect a professional, respectful, and non-judgmental environment where your goals guide the work.
How long are sessions and how often do we meet?
Sessions are typically 50 minutes. Most clients meet weekly or biweekly, depending on goals and needs. Frequency can be adjusted over time as progress is made.
Do you offer in-person or telehealth sessions?
Yes. I offer secure telehealth sessions and in-person sessions, depending on availability. Both formats are effective and structured to maintain privacy and continuity of care.
What are your fees and do you accept insurance?
I am a private-pay practice and do not bill insurance directly. Fees are discussed upfront so there are no surprises. Payment options and policies are reviewed before starting.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes. Therapy is confidential and governed by California law, with limited legal exceptions related to safety and mandated reporting. Confidentiality is reviewed during the informed consent process.
How do I know if therapy is working?
Progress often shows up as improved emotional regulation, clearer thinking, better relationships, and increased resilience. We regularly review goals to ensure therapy remains effective and aligned with your needs.
How do I know if we are a good fit?
A good fit means you feel heard, respected, and comfortable being open. Early sessions help determine whether the approach and working style meet your needs. Open discussion about fit is always welcome.
How do I get started?
You can schedule a consultation to discuss your concerns, ask questions, and determine next steps. This allows both of us to assess fit before committing to ongoing work.
